Chez Chiron

We had a lovely time here. Beautiful location and area. We loved Bordeaux, Cognac and Angouleme. The hospitality was lovely and warm. Thank you for everything!!!!!

Highly recommended gite and superb location. Spent a lovely week in this well-equiped and beautifully situated gite.It is a wonderful centre for visiting Cognac, Bordeaux and the western Dordogne with all their delicious food and wines. When not visiting theses areas, it was a delight to be able to relax in the swimming pool and enjoy the peaceful and beautiful countryside and pretty gardens. Hosts were most welcoming and helpful with advice for trips. Highly recommended and would certainly come again

My friends and \i stayed in this charming gite and upon arrival were immediately struck by the beauty of the countryside ( large sunflower fields just opposite the old stone farmhouse was particularly scenic). We were greeted by Ann and her husband Clive who kindly invited us to have a drink with them- sitting outside on the porch and admiring the wonderful views with a glass of Bordeaux wine was a great way to begin our stay. The gite was quaint yet spacious to relax in comfort with modern amenities like satellite TV and WiFi access. But the best parts were outside; The garden table enabled us to enjoy the rustic nature of the farmhouse eating our meals al fresco, while the pool facility was welcome relief during the hottest parts of the day. Ann's comprehensive vegetable garden is also a must-see! During our stay we did a number of activities including day trips to Bordeaux and St. Emillion. Plus canoeing down the Dronne river ( an idyllic way to spend an afternoon), countryside walks from the house and a trip to Cognac with a tour of the Cognac making process. Overall i would highly recommend a stay at this charming gite run by an extremely welcoming couple with plenty to see and do in the surrounding area.

Ann was a very welcoming and hard working host. I would recommend Aubeterre underground church as a must visit tourist attraction

Return trip to Chez Chiron! Glorious.. Very hot during our stay but spent time at pool, walking and canoeing in Aubeterre sur Dronne was a highlight. Lovely house as we remembered from last time and gorgeous scenery. We'll be back next year!
