La Malartrie

Our family of five thoroughly enjoyed our our 5 day visit and could have easily stayed much longer. There is so much to see within easy driving distance, from gorgeous medieval villages like Domme and Sarlat, to prehistoric cave art to castles. La Roque Gageac is just an easy stroll down the hill and has some good restaurants and plenty of boating options. A kayak or canoe trip down the beautiful Dordogne river is a must! But the best part of this house is truly the amazing scene from the terrace. We had the perfect view of town and castle and river. We could also see the hillside town of Domme in the distance and hot air balloons were always floating nearby. A truly magical spot!
