Le Manoir des Granges

Een weekje naar de Dordonge!
Op zoek naar een betaalbare gites kwamen we uit bij Annet en Jens de eigenaren van Le Manoir des Granges gelegen in het hart van de Dordonge!
Het was een waar genoegen om Jannet en Jens te ontmoeten.
Het koppel is van Nederlandse afkomst en spreekt naast de Nederlands taal ook vloeiend Engels en Frans
De gites die we hadden geboekt kunnen we gewoon het beste omschrijven als een klein beetje gedateerd maar super verzorgd, zeer schoon en zeer compleet.
Verder zijn Annet en Jens zeer betrokken bij de gasten en geven veel tips over de activiteiten en bezienswaardigheden die in de omgeving te zien en te beleven zijn.
Het was zeer fijn om Annet en Jens te ontmoeten en komen hier zeker terug als we in de Dordogne op vakantie gaan.

Een geweldige vakantie gehad mede door de vele handige en bruikbare tips van Annet en Jens de eigenaren van
Le Manoir des Granges.
Annet en Jens zijn zeer betrokken bij de gasten en hebben veel tips voor de gasten waardoor de omgeving nog aantrekkelijker wordt.
Annet en jens kunnen de gasten in drie talen vloeiend te woord staan! De Nederlandse, Engelse en Franse taal..
We hadden een schitterende Gites die van alle gemakken en comfort voorzien was.
De Gites was zeer schoon !! hier wordt veel aandacht aan gegeven.
Het zwembad maakte het helemaal af en zorgde voor lekkere verkoeling op warme dagen.
Le Manoir des Granges is zeer zeker een aanrader en wij komen er zeer zeker terug.

Nous avons passé une très belle et bonne semaine dans ce très beau cadre. La maison est bien équipée avec salle de bain/toilettes pour chaque chambre. Une grande cuisine pour accueillir du monde si le temps ne permet pas de rester dehors. La piscine est très grande et bien protégée quand on a des enfants. Les propriétaires, adorables, toujours disponibles en cas de besoin. Il y a énormément de choses à voir dans la région. Séjour super et à refaire!

Amazing house in beautiful location
The house is marked on google maps which made our journey even simpler. On arrival we were warmly welcomed to the house by Paul and Philippa. We were a group of 7 adults and 4 children – aged 8 to 11. The house is very well equipped and maintained. It’s a treat that all the bedrooms have ensuites. The pool provided a welcome relief from the high temperatures. The kids loved played with inflatables left by the previous people and their own ( enjoy the boat :) ) we also played table tennis under the shade of a walnut tree. The house has lots of room for us - we could sit together in the kitchen or out on the patio. We all had breakfast round the big table in the kitchen. A daily walk to the local bread shop to collect croissants / pain au chocolate was a must during our stay. We also walked to the Roc St Christopher (my son loved the snack bar there) and the local restaurant. The restaurant owners looked after us so well for our celebration and the food was delicious. The owners were really helpful, including making an appointment at the local doctor for one of our group. The owners are on site but completely unobtrusive. We absolutely loved our stay at the house. The house is in a great location – may places to visit within a short drive. The stars at night are wonderful.

The Manoir proved to be the house of character we expected. Your house was comfortable and easy to manage, with some very interesting decorative items such as the collection of old tins. Then there were the nesting swallows in the barn and the Lizard Orchids growing wild along the track and road-side which added wildlife interest to the fine flowery garden setting, while the view of Roque St Christophe across the valley was very impressive.

The location provided us with easy access to numerous nearby sites to visit including Lascaux IV with its extraordinary cave-art, the Maison Forte de Reignac built into the high cliff walls, and the town of Sarlat with its distillery and walnut factory as well as the famous market.

We are most grateful to you both not only for being excellent and amiable hosts but also for your help in dealing with the car repair problem we encountered. We also particularly appreciated seeing the old Leicester v Millwall football matchday programme from Paul's collection.

The Table de Moustier restaurant in Le Moustier village was an easy stroll away and we promptly made it our regular dinner venue. Both Eveline and Jean Claude provided excellent service and an imaginative, creative cuisine, including specially prepared menus, which we greatly appreciated.

Overall we greatly enjoyed our stay at Le Manoir which fully met our expectations, although the weather was mixed in early June, with some beautiful sunny blue skies albeit interspersed with some rainy days.
